Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy S6, comes with a bunch of features. But, if you closely observe, there are reasons that make you hate Samsung Galaxy S6. There is no big surprise in the specifications in comparison with its forerunner, Galaxy S5. Whereas, some functions are missing. Here is an analysis of what’s inadequate with Samsung Galaxy S6.
Before we start, you can take a look at the features of Galaxy S6.
1. Not water and dust resistant
The main highlight of Samsung Galaxy S5 was the IP67 protection against water and dust. This awesome feature is not available in the samsung’s latest flagship. That is, your Samsung Galaxy S6 can get damage if immersed in water. I don’t know the reason why the designers took this feature out. This is the first and foremost reason why i hate Samsung Galaxy S6.
2. Absence of external storage space
All the smart phones in the Samsung Galaxy S series including the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5 have had an external storage space But, in the new Galaxy S6, they have taken it off. Your phone’s memory will be limited to only internal, flash memory space available. This will be a serious issue, if you are fond of movies and games. The internal storage space may sometimes become insufficient. In a scenario like that, in S6, you will be forced to limit your file sizes(movies, video, music and games). This is ridiculous. This being the second reason why i hate Samsung Galaxy S6.
The predecessor, Samsung Galaxy S5 have 16/32GB internal and an external storage slot of upto 128GB. Whereas Samsung Galaxy S6 comes with 32/64/128GB internal memory space only.
3. Non removable battery
The battery in Samsung Galaxy S6 is non removable. Means that, the user has no way to touch, change or replace the battery. Some of the users have a habit of carrying an extra battery with them. Sometimes you may say that, the Galaxy S6 has a 2550mAh battery! It can power upto 15hrs or one day. But, some users require much more than that. One option for them is to carry an extra battery or to extend their battery capacity. Here, these options are not applicable. For example, if you need to increase the battery capacity of S5, just buy a battery extender, which comes with a combo back cover. Just see the details of 7500 mAh S5 battery extender over here.
The only advantage with the non removable battery is that, the device can be designed more compact. There is a second issue that I didn’t mention above. Accidently, if your phone gets slipped from your hand and it fells down, the damage will be more when non removable battery is found. This is because, when there is replaceable battery, fell down, the battery, cover and phone gets seperated, thereby reducing the damage done. So, it is a topic to seriously discuss whether non removable battery is better than removable battery.
4. Reduced battery capacity
Another bad thing to hate Samsung Galaxy S6 is the reduced battery capacity. The 2800mAh battery in S5 is reduced to 2550mAh. The S6 features reveal that it is made on 14nm chip and it is more energy efficient. Whatever the conditions are, no one will feel good about a battery capacity degrade. As battery extender feature is not supported, the issue becomes more severe.
5. Protruding rear camera
The main camera in Galaxy S6 is projecting out of the box. This will take away the smooth appearance and feel about the phone’s back. The primary camera is 16MP. Same as in S5. No increase in Megapixels. So, why did they protrude the camera?
6. Slippery grip
The last thing that made me hate Samsung Galaxy S6, is about the design. Galaxy S6 front and back are made of full glass. This makes the device more slippery. There are more chances that device can slip out of the hand. Whereas, in Galaxy S5, the back cover is made with perfect grip. There is no chance to slip an S5 from your hand.
So, these are the things that make Samsung Galaxy S6 inferior. Now, its your turn. Don’t forget to share your views about S6 over here.
